Custom Logos

Sabre Design always keeps derivative rights to every logo and piece of art we design. This is because the moment we allow another individual to change our logo/design/art, we can no longer claim visual copyrights to the piece. NOTE: This also means that we cannot change or recreate another designers art without their permission.

Derivative Work Under Copyright Law:
§ 101) is called a Derivative Work. ... It is considered copyright infringement to make or sell derivative works without permission from the original owner, which is where licenses typically come into play.

Does this mean I cannot use my logo art on t-shirts that I sell?
No it does not. Along with our logo design, we allow clients to print and sell items with the custom logos we design as long as this use has been discussed and is in writing from us. It also means that you cannot modify our custom logo design and must allow Sabre Design first rights of refusal to modify the existing logo artwork we have created.

Derivative rights are given to a client in writing only.
